If you are looking for drivers, software and service manuals for laptops and notebooks you may sometimes find similar models branded under a different name. Especially the FCC-ID can be helpful to detect the original manufacturer.

The gpl-violations.org project has uncovered violations by TARGA GmbH, a German Notebook Vendor, of the GNU General Public License (GPL). According to gpl-violations.org, TARGA GmbH used GPL licensed software in the "TARGA Quick Media" software that is pre-installed on their Traveller 826T MT32 notebooks.
