Laptops with SCSI Ports working with Linux

This overview is a side effect of my work with the Linux Mobile Guide - Installing, Maintaining and Tuning of Linux on Mobile Computers. I have just started to collect information. So please don't expect much.

The HP OmniBook 800 comes with a SCSI also the Texas Instruments TI 4000 (Travelmate) and Apple Powerbook G3 (Wallstreet and Lombard) are supplied with SCSI ports.

Information about Linux and SCSI PCMCIA cards you may find at Unofficially Supported PCMCIA Cards - yet not in SUPPORTED.CARDS.

According to this address: "http://www.torque.net/parport/parscsi.html" it seems that the Adaptec 1350 is in fact a re-branded Shuttle EPST which is supported under Linux. There is a suite of "Parallel Port SCSI drivers" for Linux that supports such Parallel-to-SCSI adapters. Address: "http://www.torque.net/parport/ppscsi.html"
