Maemo Mapper(https://garage.maemo.org/projects/maemo-mapper.) is a geographical mapping tool that can be used to:

Maemo Mapper uses OpenStreetMap(http://openstreetmap.org/) data by default, but can use Google and Yahoo maps. The 800x480 screen makes the N8x0 a good device for viewing maps on. Maemo Mapper will also provide you with voice directions if (a) you have preloaded the route and (b) you have the TTS engine installed. Changes enroute would require you to have internet access (e.g., able to tether to a cellphone or be in a Wifi area).


FBReader(http://www.fbreader.org/) is an e-book reader for Linux PDAs and desktop computers. FBReader currently works on Sharp Zaurus, Siemens Simpad with Opensimpad ROM, Nokia 770 Internet Tablet and Linux desktop computers. FBReader supports several e-book formats: plucker, palmdoc, zTXT, HTML, fb2, and plain text.

SDict Viewer

SDict Viewer(http://sdictviewer.sourceforge.net/) is a viewer for dictionaries in an open format developed by AXMA Soft. The primary goal of the project is to provide a usable dictionary application for the Nokia 770 and Nokia N800 running Maemo. Because SDict Viewer is written in Python and its user interface is implemented in PyGTK, it should be possible to run it on any platform where Python and PyGTK are available. Many free dictionaries, reference books, and encyclopedias are available for download.

PyMaemo - Python for Maemo

Python for Maemo(http://pymaemo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/) (PyMaemo for short) main objective is to make possible to use [WWW] Python programming language as the scripting and development language for Maemo Platform, providing a better alternative for fast prototyping and programming in Maemo environment besides the C programming language.


Symbolica(http://sourceforge.net/projects/symbolica) is a remake of the C-64 game of the same name. It is targeted to the Linux-based handhelds gp2x and N800, with a Linux/386 binary also provided. It should compile under any operating system supported by SDL, SDL_image, and SDL_ttf. The symbols on the screen represent a numeric value in the order they are displayed on the right. As you move over a symbol, it decrements to the next lower symbol or disappears. Your job is to clear the screen and move to the 'E' symbol.

KDE Ported to Nokia's Linux-Powered Web Tablets

CUON(http://www.cuon.org/) is an ERP system with a powerful document management system. The server runs on Linux systems. The client works on Linux, Windows, and some small PDAs like the Nokia N800. You can manage addresses, articles, projects, and so on. On some installations, more than 1,000,000 adresses are supported. CUON has its own report server to build documents and reports and a Web server for iCal and scheduling.


0xFFFF(http://nopcode.org/0xFFFF/) is a free fiasco firmware flasher utility. It allows you to upgrade firmwares and separated pieces via USB on your n770 and n800 Internet tablets.
